Welcome to MyCon™! A talent-founded, fan-focused virtual community.
In March 2020, The Pandemic disrupted life in dramatic ways worldwide. No longer could we gather with our extended families, friends, or even participate in daily rituals like morning coffee served by our favorite barista. Broadly speaking, all sense of community was lost.
Fans from around the world began Direct Messaging me on Instagram with expressions of fear, depression, and loneliness. They sought words of encouragement, comfort, and connection. The call to action was clear. I was inspired to support fans the way they have supported me and celebrated my work for nearly three decades. At no cost to fans, I organized meet-and-greets, group panels, and shout-outs offering as much positivity as possible.
It was in this spirit that MyCon™ was born.
MyCon™ is my love letter to fans and to the con-community at large. I am honored and privileged to have traveled across the world to meet some of the most engaging, intelligent, and interesting people with whom I will forever remain connected because of a little show called BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and its spin-off ANGEL.
During my travels over the years, I have worked with many con-promoters, personal appearance agents, and a myriad of talented, fan-favorite artists. It is because of those experiences and relationships that I am able to create a platform that understands the community from a unique perspective. I have the insight to facilitate and anticipate the needs of both talent and fans alike.
Since creating MyCon™, I have been conducting my own virtual conventions. Now, I feel it’s time to broaden my vision to include other artists, giving them an opportunity to engage with their fans on a more consistent basis.
The MyCon™ platform prioritizes fan loyalty by offering value with each purchase, attracting like-minded artists who wish to foster career-long relationships with the very community that made them popular. Artists on MyCon™ want to engage their audience in fun, original, and authentic ways resulting in a happier, more fulfilling experience for all. Most of all, MyCon™ is an inclusive space with conduct standards devoid of bullying and harassment of any kind.
MyCon™ is committed to improving the lives of others by pledging to divide a portion of CEO and Founder Charisma Carpenter’s proceeds between two charities: ThirstProject.org, bringing fresh clean drinking water to all; and Ronanfoundation.org, dedicated to changing the world of childhood cancer by funding innovative research for more effective and less toxic treatments.
For nearly a decade, I have worked with these charities by participating in fund-raising campaigns. I have also traveled to remote parts of the world to see firsthand the devastation of waterborne disease. These charities have directly impacted my life in profound ways. I am dedicated to bringing awareness to their causes.
In addition to raising awareness, it is my hope, with your help via the success of MyCon™, to contribute in more significant ways. I believe in the mission and the people behind ThirstProject.com and Ronanfoundation.org. Both charities are non-profit and tax deductible. One hundred percent of donations go directly to providing clean water sources to regions around the world and funding research treatments for children.
